Insecurity as a consequence of involuntarily being alone can lead to separation anxiety. Separation anxiety occurs more often among persons with a moderate to mild intellectual disability than among persons without a disability. TTSA was developed for the treatment of separation anxiety. Clients can send a message to their caregiver through a specially developed iPhone App TTSA. As a follow-up the clients gets a response to this message from his/her caregiver. At a convenient time the caregiver and client will then talk about the sent message. This will stimulate the understanding that the caregiver will still exist even if they’re not physically present and this will lessen the separation anxiety.
