On your own two feet
The development of orientation and mobility in blind children from birth to six years of age.
Five blind children, from birth to six years of age, illustrate the development of movement and orientation. The film is produced in three parts: Theory. First the relationship between perception of the environment and what motivates movement is examined. Characteristics. The film then explores characteristic differences in the development of movement in blind children. Stimulation. Finally the film devotes special attention to the role parents and caregivers can play in encouraging movement.
