Deaf-blind, Group 42
A study on the seven residents of Group 42 at Bartiméus.
Teaching, specific (individually designed) forms of communication to people with a serious degree of auditory, visual and mental disability is sometimes possible.
A lot of information can be gathered by studying the ways in wich a person relates, the subtle approch, the manner of touching or body language. Caretaker Wanda takes the viewer along on a shift. As the day unfolds she tells how she relates to the residents, shows how communication plays an important role. Although Wanda does continually talk to the residents, communication in Group 42 is not purely verbal.
